We are helping children to succeed academically by promoting, developing, and supporting academic programs, whole-child supports, capacity building, and professional development.
EnCompass is our premier provider of services for students and families, including afterschool and summer learning, school day intervention, wraparound Navigation, college and career development, and family capacity building. Each year, EnCompass serves 3,000 children grades Pre-K through post-graduation with demonstrated success.
Our legacy organization is The Norman Howard School – a private, special education school- which provides learning disabilities support for more than 100 children (grades 5 – 12) every year. The Norman Howard School has a 99% graduation rate since 1984!
Learning needs, housing insecurity, and child welfare systems involvement - barriers to academic achievement can take many forms. EnCompass provides initiatives for parents of children struggling in school, children in foster care, homeless teens, and others who need personalized support to experience success in school and in life.
The Student Success Project (SSP) is a comprehensive initiative dedicated to empowering parents as pivotal members of their children's educational team.
A team of grassroots experts equip families with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to assert and uphold their educational rights.
Home-insecure teens face huge barriers that impede their ability to finish school. SPIRIT NYS provides financial support, mentoring, and advocacy to homeless teens across 11 Rochester high schools, helping them graduate with plans for their futures.
