You can make an important difference for a student at a time when children and families in our community face major challenges to academic success. More than half of Rochester's children live in poverty and high school graduation rates hover at or below 50%. Academic success is daunting in the face of deep poverty.

You can make a gift today that brings students closer to becoming high school graduates and prepared to move on to a college or career. Generous community members like you help us provide outstanding afterschool, summer learning, and school day programs for 2,400 vulnerable students every year through our EnCompass: Resources for Learning and The Norman Howard School programs. To make a lasting impact, we have found many children need comprehensive, year-round support including food and wellness support, health and social services, and effective college and career preparation. Parents told us they are ready to lead the way for their children, but need resources and connection to services to help them succeed. EnCompass Navigation is our groundbreaking holistic approach, which layers the supports students and families need by building trusting relationships and a network of resources. Navigators are committed professionals who help families navigate systems and programs by serving as a single-point-of-access. In the year ahead your gift can help us to:

• Complete renovation of a special community kitchen where students and their families learn to cook and be healthy together. Our teaching gardens, emergency food backpack programs, and cooking classes reach hundreds of children across the City of Rochester
• Increase job readiness for hundreds of college and career-bound students through "Future Ready" afterschool programming
